Travel Diaries: Krakow, Poland Part II

I've already spoken a little about our recent trip to Krakow, Poland in the first installment post here. I mainly talked about the amazing Puro Hotel and the shopping centres we visited so today I wanted to show you a few more pictures from the sights we saw on the trip.

I don't know if I stressed it quite enough in my last post but Krakow is insanely beautiful. Joe and I would be walking along, chatting and suddenly something would catch my eye- a building, a wall, a tree- and I'd stop dead in my tracks to capture whatever it was whilst Joe carried on walking and talking, oblivious until I'd catch up with him a few moments later, panting!

This gorgeous little fort thing was something we walked past pretty much every day. A tiny little castle in the park surrounded by a moat, with teeny tiny little windows and adorable green turrets. I'm not greedy- if I was ever in the position to possess a castle, a little thing like this would do me just fine.

We were really lucky with the weather when we were there, it was bright sunshine and really warm pretty much the entire time. It was much cooler in the evenings but it was fresh and refreshing. Everything manages to look beautiful when the sky is blue and the sun is shining- everything looks a little more colourful. The grass greener, the buildings more magnificent. But I'm pretty sure I'd love Krakow come rain or shine and I'd especially love to go back to see it covered in snow.

We spent most of our time in the Old Town which is magically medieval with a beautiful square filled with cafes, restaurants, shops and markets. In Malta I hate the horses and carriages that take tourists around as the horses are not well cared for- they are left out all day in the heat without any water and it breaks my heart. But the horses and carriages in Krakow were just something else. The carriages were magnificent, the drivers were impeccably dressed and the horses were things of beauty- it was plain to see how well they were cared for and how happy they were- a stark contrast to Malta and I really think we could learn a thing or two here!

Each building was more striking than the last and I can't even count how many pictures I took, I'm only sharing a tiny portion here as I don't want to bore you but it was so hard to pick favourites. It would be incredible to live in this area, in one of the stately buildings now renovated inside to flats. Just imagine having the keys to these kinds of places, standing on your balcony looking down on the peasants below...

I've never walked aimlessly round a more beautiful square, never been so amazed by every single little thing around me.
