Travel Guide for Perfect Days in Malta by Marco Polo

Marco Polo is the go-to name for travel guides the world over, and now they’ve added a Malta focused spiral guide travel book into their collection. I was lucky enough to get my hands on one for a read through and today I’m going to go over some of the content you can expect in this Malta travel guide, whether it’s useful and interesting and worth buying if you’re planning a trip to Malta.

The spiral guide itself is exactly the kind of thing I love. I love books, notepads, jotters, binders and all things like that, so this thick spiral book with it’s card cover, thick pages and perfectly categorised chapters is just so satisfying. I enjoy looking through it and in an age where everything is done online, it’s so nice to go back to the days of physical travel guides, maps and letters.

The guide is perfectly named:

Perfect Days in Malta

The Perfect Days in Malta travel guide is split into categories or chapters;

  1. The Magazine
  2. Finding Your Feet
  3. Valletta, Sliema & St Julians
  4. The South
  5. Central Malta
  6. The North
  7. Gozo & Comino
  8. Walks and Tours

which I think are perfect segments and exactly the main points you need to read up on when planning a trip to Malta. Each chapter is colour coded and the pages are clearly marked so it’s incredibly easy to flip immediately to the section you’re looking for.

Top 10 Things to do in Malta

The opening pages detail their top 10 selected places to visit in Malta and I wont spoil the surprise (buy the book to find out!) but I’d definitely agree that they’re 10 things you simply must try and see when visiting Malta. It includes places like the Grand Harbour, Marsaxlokk (which too many people don’t fit into their trip) and more.

Historical and Modern Day Malta

The “Perfect Days in Malta” travel guide from Marco Polo is small and compact but filled with so much information. You’ll find fascinating facts about Malta’s (incredibly rich) history, traditional culture and more recent developments. Find out about the Knights of Malta and the oldest freestanding buildings in the entire world, information on the local food, village festas and why Brad Pitt and the rest of the glitterati make Malta a second home. You’ll even find information on Malta’s plans for the future and how the EU has helped shape this little island into a must visit portal in Europe.

Starting Your Trip to Malta

There is hoards of information to help you make the most of your trip, from the moment your feet land on Maltese soil. Find out how to get to your accommodation, where to stay, how to get around the island during your trip, where to eat, where to drink, how to keep entertained and loads more.

Maps and Locations

You’ll find detailed, closeup maps of areas of Malta, with extra, fun information about top spots like Vittoriosa, Fort St Elmo, beaches, Comino and just about every other stop and city you need to work into your holiday in Malta. If you’re not sure what there is to see, do and visit in Malta then “Perfect days in Malta” travel guide from Marco Polo will help you create the perfect itinerary based on your preferences (culture, history, food, shopping etc).

Walks & Tours in Malta

You are wrong and this Marco Polo Malta travel guide will bring you all you need to know about the best walks and tours available. Choose whether to head out on these beautiful trips yourself or with a guide, find out where to go and what to see. I’ve lived in Malta for 5 years and even I have learnt so much from this book and created a list of places I still haven’t seen (because I simply didn’t know they were worth visiting) and I cannot wait to fall even further in love with this little island. I’ll definitely be heading over to Marco Polo as soon as I begin planning my next trip abroad.

I haven’t yet bought the book (but I am sure to now) but I always love a good top 10 list, especially for a glorious destination such as Malta. Without the benefit of having knowledgeable family or friends with you a travel guidebook is almost definitely a must, and I think I have the same opinion as you, I enjoy holding a nicely made guide with real pages! The internet hasn’t quite got me in its totally mobile grasp (yet)

Malta has a lot to offer to tourists. In fact, it’s safe to say that there’s something for everybody. There are tons of great historical sites, beaches, and restaurants that serve delicious food that you can visit.
