You all know that I love Malta and despite it’s negatives (of which there are many) I’ve spent the last 5 years singing it’s praises on this blog and generally loving the life that I have created here. However, Malta is an intense island. If the chaos or heat don’t drive you mad, then the size of the place surely will. Its tiny, and although it feels much bigger than it actually is when living here, it’s still essential to get out frequently. When living in Malta there will be things you miss; big proper cities, forests, decent parks, real supermarkets and shopping centres to name just a few. So, to best enjoy your life, living in Malta, my advice is to travel whenever you can.
Ryanair and Easyjet both serve Malta, so it’s pretty easy to get quick and cheap flights to lots of places across Europe. If money isn’t really an option, then you’re set, but if you’re on a budget, keep an eye on the flight and you’ll find returns to Barcelona for €50, trips to Italy for €20. Joe and I have been lucky enough to be able to travel quite a lot in the 5 years we’ve lived in Malta so I decided to set up a whole new blog, dedicated to travel.
Travel On, Up & Away is my new site in order not to clog this Malta based blog up with posts that aren’t relevant to Malta and to share my travel experiences. You can expect hotel reviews, information on where we went and why, what we thought of the various countries and cities and whether we’d go back. I share pictures from the sights we made time to see, and whether they were worth a visit, as well as general travel tips to make travelling as cheap and hassle free as possible.
If you enjoy travel, whether you live in Malta or anywhere else in the world, it’d mean so much to me if you could check out my new site and let me know what you think!
