The Corinthia Palace Hotel & Spa Executive Suite
I already have a full review of the Corinthia Palace Hotel + Spa but on our stay this weekend we were lucky enough to get upgraded to the Executive Suite and I just had to share my experiences of this huge and incredible room and review that specifically for those travellers looking for a little more space.
The Executive Suite at the Corinthia Palace Hotel + Spa is absolutely stunning. The decor is old fashioned in the most fashionable sense; chic, elegant and opulent.
Executive Suite Bedroom
The roomy bedroom is filled with an enormous bed; one comfortable mattress (not two shoved together, I hate that) and pretty black bedding. But there is still room for a walk-in wardrobe (I kid you not!), desk/dressing table and TV unit. There is even still plenty of room to move around and the external wall leads out onto the balcony, which contains a coffee table and two chairs plus two comfy black sunbeds.
The entire area is fitted with carpets, which I bloody love. Carpet is one of the things I miss most about the UK (along with central heating and proper shopping!) so I'm always over the moon to see hotels furnished with it. The rooms are fully equipped with a mini bar, plus tea and coffee making facilities.
Executive Suite Bathroom
The bathroom is the only thing that was about the same as the normal rooms. It isn't any bigger, but the toiletries are much nicer. Unless they happen to have changed the brand they used since I last stayed, it looks like the suites get nicer ones (and so they should!). The bathroom is small but fit for purpose and even contains a bath. Ours did have a bit of a strange smell, but I find most hotel bathrooms do and it was nothing too bad.
Executive Suite Living + Dining Space
The bedroom has a door leading into a living space that is bigger than our apartment. A squishy sofa and two chairs sit around the coffee table, facing a (second!) wall TV so you can lounge about in comfort. Another door in this area also leads out onto the balcony. In the living space there is a dining section with a sizeable table and 4 seats, perfect if you're ordering room service. Then there is a lot of extra space holding a full length mirror, a table and a writing desk.
The rooms are well furnished, with plenty of everything you need, yet still more than enough space to move around. Even the balcony is huge! After our evening meal we came back, popped on our Corinthia robes and slippers and just lay on the sunbeds talking and working a little on our laptops, it was so nice.
Overall Thoughts
Overall, the Executive Suite at the Corinthia Palace Hotel + Spa was a real dream and this has very quickly become my favourite hotel ever. The suite is huge, stylishly done and clean, with all the facilities and furniture you could ever need. Of course, the suites are expensive and they aren't realistic or necessary for everyone. If it's not within your budget then it's not worth stretching yourself for, however if you prefer to book suites in general, have the cash to spare or fancy some serious luxury, I'd absolutely recommend looking into the Executive Suites at the Corinthia Palace Hotel + Spa in Attard, Malta.
Bonus Sunset
We stayed at the Corinthia on Saturday night and it just happened to be one of the most intense sunsets probably this year. The sky was alive and alight, it was absolutely breathtaking. Annoyingly I only had my iPhone on me and not my proper camera so, as always, the photos do not do this justice!
