Everything You Need to Know about Netflix Malta
Can you believe that I lived here for 6 years before Netflix finally came to Malta? Back in 2016 Netflix finally arrived in Malta and it changed my fricking life. Since then I have enjoyed so many awesome shows on Netflix Malta, shows I otherwise never would have come across.
What is Netflix?
Netflix Malta is a legal streaming program where you can watch thousands of TV shows and movies online, across most devices (computer, laptop, mobile, tablet) for a monthly subscription fee. It's super easy to use, and learns from the things you watch in order to recommend other things you might like, which is awesome if, like me, you finish a series and have an empty hole in your life with no idea what to do next.
What TV shows to Watch on Netflix Malta
It's true that in Malta, Netflix is a lot more limited than the US or UK and many other European countries. Whenever I go abroad I love checking what shows are available that I can't get back home. But despite it's limitations, the selection grows each month and there are loads of great shows you can watch on Netflix in Malta.

Why Pay for Netflix in Malta?
Netflix makes perfect sense in the UK, where it's near on impossible to download or stream films and TV shows for free online, but in Malta, it's actually pretty easy. The websites aren't blocked and have most shows and films pretty much as soon as they've been aired. So why would you want to pay for Netflix?
The first, obvious answer, is that it's the right thing to do. Don't be a dick. Shows and films cost money to make and downloading stuff for free effects their budgets, their results and all that important stuff. But (I know most of us don't really care about that), more realistically, it's safer (no need to worry about viruses or other nasties), it's easier (no annoying popups with every single click) and it takes all effort out of watching your favourite shows; as one episode finishes, the next will automatically play so you don't need to do anything other than chill out and enjoy your binge watching. The recommendations are also awesome, and you'll come across loads of TV shows, films and little indie things you never would have found otherwise.
How Much Does Netflix in Malta Cost?
Netflix in Malta has 3 different subscription levels to choose from.
Basic: €7.99
Standard: €9.99
HD
Can watch on 2 screens at once (this is great for couples, pay for one subscription and even when one of you is away, you can both watch)
Premium: €11.99
Ultra HD
Can watch on 4 screens
All 3 are very affordable and you can pick whichever one suits your needs and/or budget. You can also upgrade and downgrade at any time, so you can always try out a pricier option for a month and if you find you don't need the extras then you can downgrade to the cheaper ones and vice versa. Personally I'm going to go for the Standard €9.99 package so that I can be watching on one device and my boyfriend on another if we're not watching together. And if you find you're not using it enough, you can cancel at any time.
