I like nothing more than a good celebration and the Marina Hotel in St Julians, Malta are really doing it in style this May with their "Take Me To the Marina" May Fest 2015. It's a 5 day festival filled with activities, classes and fun to suit all ages and tastes. To give you an idea, there will be wine pairing, competitions to win prizes, cooking classes, exhibitions, comedy, kids activities and loads more to choose from!

Wednesday 27th May: Love Your Food, Know Your Wine at Marina Hotel

This event is super interesting to me. I love food and I enjoy a nice glass of wine with a meal out but I know nothing about wines. Nothing. I don't know if I'm ordering a bottle of vinegar or a worlds finest vintage. This is where Da Marina comes in to save the day, with an extensive wine pairing evening filled with good food and excellent wines. The event is hosted by the true experts; Cassar Camilleri Wines, so you know you're in good hands.

The evening begins at 7PM and will consist of a four course dinner menu, wine paring with each course and live entertainment from Band Novel, all for just €28 per person. That's a night filled with everything you could ever need, for less than a normal meal out! Even better? Da Marina, as the name would suggest is situated right on the waterfront with a stunning view of the Mediterranean sea as you drink and dine.

Friday 29th May: BBQ & Flame Jugglers at Marina Hotel

Friday Flames, as it has been dubbed, will be filled with amazing smoked and chargrilled BBQ food along with real life flame jugglers for entertainment. They say entertainment but I am sure I'd spend the whole show on edge hoping no one hurts themselves! These performers are highly trained in their art however, so you really can sit back, enjoy the view, the food and the show, revelling in something totally different and completely new on the island.

This event will take place at Vinotheque Restaurant and will begin at 7PM. It's bound to fill up fast, as no one will want to miss this, so be sure to book your place in advance. You'll enjoy a selection of food including lamb, pork, chicken, beef and even fish with lots of different meat cuts available.

For booking details please check the Friday Flames Information Page.

Sunday 31st May: Ferrari Sunday at Marina Hotel

If you need a bit of luxury in your life, but don't have a few hundred thousand euros spare to buy your own Ferrari, then Ferrari Sunday is the perfect consolation. A group of varying Ferraris will be parked outside the hotel for common people like us to marvel at and photograph, so we can hashtag #MyNewRide on Instagram. But it's not all looking and no touching; those who book in early can secure themselves a passenger ride in one of these beautiful beasts. If you really fall in love, you can even join the Ferrari club (of course there is a club!) and enjoy an Italian lunch at the Bayview Restaurant.

This event begins at 11AM and the passenger ride only costs €25 so it's pretty accessible to anyone who is a Ferrari fan. Even better, this is the even with a heart with proceeds being donated to local charity, Inspire.

For booking details please check the Ferrari Sunday Information Page.

I'll be checking out a few events myself and really can't wait, so I hope to see some of you there!
