I have been uming and ahing over whether to write this post. Joe and I have found an amazing, affordable little pool area, open to the public and we LOVE it- I want to share amazing finds with you guys but the place is so small and quiet we kind of want to keep it to ourselves. But kindness won out and here we go!
If you’re looking for a day at a pool in Malta then Che Cafe is somewhere to consider. It’s only small so I’d recommend booking to avoid disappointment but if you get in, it’s perfect. They have a cafe area and sell food and drinks at really reasonable prices. Most pools will rip you off, but not Che Cafe! You can’t take your own food and drink, which always annoys me at pools, especially with water, but at least they don’t over charge for drinks so just make sure you have some change on you.
The pool itself at Che Cafe is small but lovely. Incredibly clean, a shallow and a deep end, steps to get in and out with sun-beds all around. The water is cool and refreshing but not as freezing as some pools. It is only small so with 10 people it’d feel a little crowded but because it’s so small it’s not really one for swimming up and down- you’ll all just pop in and float around to cool down and there is plenty of room for that!
The staff are really friendly, not what you’d usually expect in Malta! I believe the lady’s name was Elena (please correct me if I remembered this incorrectly!) and she was so helpful and really went out of her way for us. They currently have some offers available for half price day membership (€6 instead of €12) which makes Che Cafe pool a real bargain so keep an eye out and make sure you use a voucher. I think the full price of €12 for the day would be a bit much but as long as you check the deal websites, you’ll easily get the half price offer.
Make sure to find them on Facebook and if you do pop on by, let them know you read about them here <3
