We had a last minute trip to the UK recently to see some of Joe’s family and this included a 70s themed birthday party for my future sister in law, Ayesha. We went to the Car Wash in London which really wasn’t great but we made the best of it! I really enjoyed dressing up and found this 70s style printed dress in a charity shop at a real bargain price.
Ayesha’s parents, like all the best people, are dog people and they had a new addition to the family in lil baby Tasha. All their dogs were adorable but like any girly girl I’m always drawn to puppies! We had drinks at theirs before going out in London and it was gorgeous, her parents put on an amazing spread and their house was beautiful- they have my dream garden! The next day they took us out for an amazing Afghan lunch- I’m a convert, the food was incredible!
The weather in England was actually much warmer than I was expecting- I really did think I’d be frozen, and certainly on the first day it was a struggle but after that the temperature was really quite mild. So grey though. Clouds just everywhere, every day. What’s the point in warmth if you can’t even see the sky?
Clouds do make for pretty awesome sunsets though!
And we made the most of the food whilst we were there- 3 proper British roast dinners, chip shop suppers and dirty fried chicken!
I’ve been at my current job now for two and a half years and we’ve been in an office which is more like a flat, an empty one at that. We just threw some desks in and made do. Well, finally we’re starting to get the office into shape. We have some carpet which I love SO much, makes it instantly more cosy yet more office like, we have some nice fruit and nuts coming in weekly and we have a sexy new fridge stocked to the brim with cold cans.
Yup, you may have noticed the champagne. On Friday we had a little celebration- champagne, wine, cheese and fruits- for an existing client going live in Spain (woohoo!) AND… my promotion :D world domination, here I come!
